Finally finished December's piece. December is a month of renewal for me...the winter solstice is just a date, but I KNOW that more daylight will be slowing accumulating. There is darkness and there is light. I crave the light.

Two days ago we had almost spring-like weather, and the ice on our driveway (curvy and uphill) melted. (We've had more than a foot of snow so far this winter!) I spent time outside cleaning up 'presents' from my dog Lucky. It was wonderful.

The other fun part of this piece was getting to use charlottes. These little bitty beads are so beautiful. I collect them with no idea how I will use them. Not many bead projects call for charlottes...but I wish they did. So tiny, so fascinating. After working those tiny wonders, even 11's and 8's see HUGE. That might be my challenge next month!

Great minds think alike!! My project just completed was the Sun and Hope also.

Sorry you lost your friend, but so glad for you to be able to spend so much time with her. She felt loved and you had time to reconcile losing her. Much easier for both of you.

Best wishes to you.

Your story about your friend was so inspiring. The Bead Journal Project is so life altering I think, I am glad you had it to see you through this very emotional time. Your December piece reminds me of Easter, perhaps it is the soul of your friend that is rising also.

Thank you for writing about you and your friend on the BJP Blog... I'm sorry for your loss but glad that you had quality time with her before she died. I love the thought of you singing to her. Did you bead on this sun while you were with her? I too am always happy as the Solstice begins the journey to spring. Blessings to you for the year ahead.

I always start counting the minutes earlier the sun comes up now. It is a very appropriate page for December.

Your November page is great too. I really like how you are joining them all together.
